Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and ArkSpec Studio ("we") about your use of ArkSpec Study Engine, including the Windows app, the web version and arkspecstudy.com (together, "ArkSpec"). By creating an account or using ArkSpec, you agree to them.

1. Who can use ArkSpec

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who also agrees to these terms. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens in your account.

2. What ArkSpec does

ArkSpec turns study materials you add into study tools such as summaries, flashcards and practice questions, and grades your practice answers. It uses AI (Claude, by Anthropic) through ArkSpec's own server. The AI can be wrong: check important facts against your course materials and your teacher. ArkSpec is a study aid, not a replacement for your course, and we don't guarantee any grade or result.

3. Your materials

You keep all rights to what you add. You give us permission to process it only to provide ArkSpec to you (for example, to send its text to the AI to build the tools you ask for, and to sync it if your plan includes sync). Only add materials you have the right to use, such as your own notes and materials your course gives you for your own study.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use ArkSpec to: break the law or anyone's rights; add material that is illegal, harmful, hateful or sexual involving minors; try to use the AI for anything other than ArkSpec's study tools; try to get around limits, the bot check or security; access other people's accounts or data; or overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service. Requests that look like misuse are refused and may be reviewed. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Plans, payments and cancellation

The Free plan has the limits shown on the pricing page. Paid plans (Plus and Pro) are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your account; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal. Refunds are covered by the refund policy. Each plan's weekly AI allowance and storage are limits, not amounts owed to you.

6. When a plan ends or an account is closed

When a paid plan ends, your account moves to the Free plan. Synced classes become read-only for 60 days and are then deleted from our server. Classes saved on your own devices stay there. If you delete your account, we delete what we store for it, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Changes and availability

We may change or stop features, and will give reasonable notice of important changes to these terms (for example by email). We try to keep ArkSpec available but can't promise it will always be available or error-free.

8. Disclaimers and limits

ArkSpec is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data you didn't keep a copy of, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
