Privacy Policy

ArkSpec is built for students, so we collect as little as possible. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

What we store about you

• Your account: your email address and a scrambled form of your password. Your password itself never reaches us: your browser turns it into a one-way code first.
• Sign-ins: which devices are signed in (browser or Windows app) and when they were last used, so you can sign them out.
• Plan and usage: your plan and how much of your weekly AI allowance you've used.
• Payments (once paid plans open): handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Synced classes (Plus and Pro): encrypted on your device before they're uploaded. Only you hold the key, so we can't read them.

Your study materials and the AI

ArkSpec reads your files on your own device and uses only their text; your original files are never uploaded. When you build a study tool or have an answer graded, the text it needs is sent to our server and on to Anthropic's Claude AI to do that job. We don't keep that text after the request, and Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models. Anthropic may keep it for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring under its own commercial terms.

The one exception: if a request is refused because it looks like misuse of the AI, we keep a short excerpt (up to 400 characters) and a note of what happened for up to 90 days, so it can be reviewed.

What stays on your device

Classes saved in the Windows app or your browser stay on that device unless your plan syncs them. The website and web version store a few settings in your browser (such as your theme) and a sign-in cookie that's needed to keep you signed in.

Who else handles data

• Cloudflare runs our website and server, and its bot check protects sign-up.
• Anthropic provides the Claude AI.
• An email provider sends verification and password-reset emails.
• Stripe will process payments.

They process data only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Refused-request records are deleted after 90 days. Synced classes are deleted 60 days after a paid plan ends. When you delete your account (on your account page), we delete your account data from our server straight away, except records we must keep by law, such as payment records.

Children

ArkSpec isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

You can see your account information on your account page, and delete your account there at any time. To ask for a copy of your data or anything else about privacy, contact support@arkspecstudy.com.
